Nina Nastasia in Vancouver

Nina Nastasia is an American singer-songwriter born in Los Angeles whose spare folk and indie-rock songs are built around voice, guitar and chamber instrumentation. Her best-known records include the debut Dogs, The Blackened Air, On Leaving and Riderless Horse; she recorded much of her catalogue with engineer Steve Albini. John Peel invited her to record BBC sessions early in her career. In 2007, concerts for You Follow Me paired her voice and guitar with Jim White’s drumming, following the album’s duo arrangement. After an extended absence from recording and performance, she returned to the stage around Riderless Horse.
