Simon Phillips in Los Angeles

Simon Phillips is an English drummer, composer and bandleader, born in London in 1957. His recording credits include Judas Priest’s Sin After Sin and Jeff Beck’s There & Back, and he served as Toto’s drummer from 1992 until 2014. His work as a leader centers on the jazz-fusion album series Protocol. He played drums on The Who’s 1989 reunion tour, including a performance of Tommy at Radio City Music Hall. His two decades of touring with Toto were documented by 25th Anniversary: Live in Amsterdam and Falling in Between Live, recorded at Le Zénith in Paris. For Protocol IV concerts, Simon Phillips led a quartet completed by guitarist Greg Howe, bassist Ernest Tibbs and keyboardist Dennis Hamm.
