Six Feet Under is an American death-metal band formed in Tampa in 1993 by vocalist Chris Barnes and guitarist Allen West. Fronted by Barnes, formerly of Cannibal Corpse, the group plays death metal built on low vocals and groove-heavy riffs. Its best-known records include Haunted, Warpath and Maximum Violence, while the Graveyard Classics series recasts rock and metal songs in the band’s style. The 2002 live album Double Dead documented Six Feet Under on a United States tour supporting True Carnage. The later concert film Wake the Night! Live in Germany captured the band’s 2009 performance at Party.San Open Air.
