Artists
SOJA is an American reggae band formed in Arlington, Virginia, in 1997. Its roots-reggae sound incorporates dub and rock, while songs including “True Love” and “You and Me” helped establish the group’s audience. The catalog includes the albums Strength to Survive and Beauty in the Silence, which won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album. The 2016 concert film and album Live in Virginia documented SOJA’s full-band performance at Wolf Trap in Vienna. The band has also performed at California Roots in Monterey and Rototom Sunsplash in Benicàssim, extending its live work well beyond the Washington area to major reggae festivals such as Rototom Sunsplash.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is an American jam band formed at the University of Maryland in 2009 and later based in Baltimore. The group plays psychedelic funk-rock and is known for songs including “Horizon,” “Melting Lights” and “F.U.,” as well as the albums Psychology, Pizazz and Presto. The band founded Domefest in 2010, building the festival around its own extended sets and performances by fellow jam acts. The event became a recurring gathering, and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong later appeared at Bonnaroo in 2018 before headlining Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2019.
