Sophie Ellis-Bextor in Glasgow

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is an English pop singer and songwriter, born in London in 1979, whose music centres on disco and dance-pop. After fronting theaudience, she began a solo career and recorded “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)” with Spiller. Her debut album Read My Lips includes “Murder on the Dancefloor” and “Take Me Home”; later records include Shoot from the Hip and Wanderlust. In 2020, Sophie Ellis-Bextor began the Kitchen Disco livestreams, performing at home with members of her family. She followed the broadcasts with the Kitchen Disco Tour, playing theatres and concert halls including the London Palladium and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. In 2023, she performed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival.
