Stanton Moore in New Orleans

Stanton Moore is an American drummer and composer, born in New Orleans in 1972, who plays jazz-funk, fusion and groove-based rock. He is a founding member of Galactic and has also recorded under his own name, including the albums All Kooked Out!, Flyin’ the Koop, Groove Alchemy and Conversations. In the 1990s, Stanton Moore began playing New Orleans clubs with Galactic before touring widely with the band. He has also led the Stanton Moore Trio, while his hometown performances have included Mardi Gras concerts at Tipitina’s and appearances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Beyond Louisiana, his work with Galactic has brought him to Bonnaroo in Tennessee and Fuji Rock in Japan.
