Steam Powered Giraffe in Buffalo

Steam Powered Giraffe is an American musical group formed in San Diego in 2008. Their folk rock and cabaret songs are performed through a fictional troupe of steampunk robots, supported by character lore, comedy and mime. Their best-known recordings include “Honeybee,” “Brass Goggles” and “Automatonic Electronic Harmonics,” while their albums include Album One, The 2¢ Show and Vice Quadrant. Steam Powered Giraffe developed its early live act while busking in Balboa Park, where the musicians performed in robot makeup and stayed in character between songs. They later brought that theatrical concert format to fan conventions, including Youmacon in Detroit.
