About Steel Panther
Steel Panther are an American glam-metal band formed in Los Angeles in 2000. Their exaggerated 1980s hair-metal personas and sexually explicit comedy found a wider audience through the album Feel the Steel and songs including “Death to All but Metal” and “Community Property”; later records include Balls Out and All You Can Eat.
The band built its early live following through weekly Monday-night performances at the Viper Room, followed by a residency at the Key Club, using the earlier names Metal Shop and Metal Skool. After those residencies, Steel Panther supported Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe on their 2011 UK arena tour.
A Steel Panther concert is a full-band glam-metal performance presented in character. Comic monologues and improvised exchanges between the musicians form part of the set between songs.
Steel Panther have also performed at England’s Download Festival and Germany’s Wacken Open Air.
