Steve Von Till & Six Organs Of Admittance in Tucson

Steve Von Till is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and composer, born in 1969 and best known as a vocalist and guitarist in Neurosis. His solo work centers on dark folk, acoustic songwriting and drone, heard on albums including As the Crow Flies, A Grave Is a Grim Horse and No Wilderness Deep Enough; he also records ambient music as Harvestman. At Roadburn Festival in 2022, he performed No Wilderness Deep Enough with a live ensemble, bringing the record’s voice, strings and electronics to the stage. Later that year, he presented his solo material at Wyoming’s Fire in the Mountains.

Six Organs Of Admittance is an American experimental folk project founded by guitarist and songwriter Ben Chasny in 1998. Acoustic fingerpicking, electric guitar, drone and psychedelia shape records including School of the Flower, The Sun Awakens, Ascent and Hexadic. In 2012, concerts supporting Ascent presented the project as a full electric band, emphasizing the album’s heavier rock arrangements. This expanded a live history in which Chasny has also performed solo sets built around guitar and voice; the Ascent lineup drew on musicians from Comets on Fire.
