Artist
Stewart Copeland is an American drummer and composer, born in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1952. He is best known as a co-founder and the drummer of The Police, whose recordings include “Roxanne,” “Message in a Bottle” and “Every Breath You Take.” His work outside the band includes the score for Rumble Fish and music for the Spyro video-game series. Copeland played Shea Stadium with The Police on the Synchronicity Tour in 1983. He reunited with Sting and Andy Summers for the band’s 2007–08 reunion tour, which opened in Vancouver and concluded at Madison Square Garden. For Police Deranged for Orchestra, Copeland plays drums alongside an orchestra and vocalists in his own arrangements of songs from The Police catalogue.
