Suzanne Ciani in Brooklyn

Suzanne Ciani is an American composer, electronic musician and pianist, born in 1946. Known for her work with the Buchla modular synthesizer, she helped bring electronic sound into recordings, advertising and film before establishing a catalogue of instrumental albums that includes Seven Waves and The Velocity of Love. Recordings of her 1975 performances at the WBAI Free Music Store in New York were later issued as Buchla Concerts 1975. In 2016, she gave her first solo Buchla concert in four decades; the quadraphonic San Francisco performance became the album LIVE Quadraphonic, recorded at Gray Area.
