Takako Okamura in Yamaguchi

Takako Okamura is a Japanese singer-songwriter, born in Okazaki in 1962, who first became known as half of the pop duo Aming with Haruko Kato. Their debut single “Matsuwa” became her first signature song. She began her solo career in 1985, and “Yume o Akiramenaide” became one of her best-known works. In 1982, Aming performed “Matsuwa” on NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen. The duo reunited in 2007 and returned to the same televised year-end show, while Takako Okamura has also presented her solo catalogue through concert tours carrying the recurring T’s GARDEN title.
