Artist
Tamikrest is a Malian Tuareg band formed in Kidal in 2006 and led by singer and guitarist Ousmane Ag Mossa. The group plays desert blues built around electric guitars, Tamasheq vocals and rock rhythms; its catalogue includes the albums Adagh, Toumastin, Chatma, Taksera and Tamotaït. After members of Tamikrest recorded with Dirtmusic on BKO, the two groups toured Europe together. Tamikrest subsequently brought its full-band performances to clubs and major festival stages, including Glastonbury Festival and WOMAD.
