Tamio Okuda in Kyoto

Tamio Okuda is a Japanese singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, born in Hiroshima in 1965. He first became known as the singer and guitarist of the rock band Unicorn, then began a solo career in 1994. “Ai no Tame ni,” “Sasurai” and the album 29 are among the central works in his catalogue. In 1998, Tamio Okuda presented Hitorimatatabi at Nippon Budokan, establishing a solo concert format built around his voice and guitar. He took that format to Hiroshima Municipal Stadium for Hitorimatatabi Special in 2004, then returned to an outdoor ballpark for another edition at Mazda Stadium in 2015.
