Teresa Parodi in Buenos Aires

Teresa Parodi is an Argentine singer-songwriter, born in Corrientes in 1947, whose music is rooted in chamamé and the folk traditions of northeastern Argentina. Her debut album, El purajhei de Teresa Parodi, includes “Pedro Canoero,” while “Apurate José” and “Esa musiquita” are also central to her songbook. At the Festival Nacional de Folklore de Cosquín in 1984, she received the Consagración distinction, marking an important early appearance before the national folk audience. Her later concert history includes performances at multiple editions of the Fiesta Nacional del Chamamé.
