Tesla is an American hard rock band formed in Sacramento in 1981. Blues-rooted riffs and melodic rock shaped the albums Mechanical Resonance and The Great Radio Controversy, which include the signature songs “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Love Song.” The band supported Def Leppard on the Hysteria Tour during its early recording career. In 1990, Tesla recorded Five Man Acoustical Jam at the Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia, documenting the acoustic performance that produced their version of “Signs.” After breaking up in 1996, the musicians reunited in 2000 for a concert at ARCO Arena.
