About The Ataris
The Ataris are an American punk-rock band formed by singer and guitarist Kris Roe in Anderson, Indiana, in 1995. Their catalog includes the albums Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits and So Long, Astoria, while their version of Don Henley’s “The Boys of Summer” became their best-known recording. “In This Diary” and “The Saddest Song” are among their other signature tracks.
The Ataris played multiple editions of Vans Warped Tour as their live schedule expanded beyond punk clubs. In 2004, the band recorded a concert at the Metro in Chicago that was later released as Live at the Metro. A decade after the release of So Long, Astoria, Roe reunited the album-era lineup for anniversary concerts centered on So Long, Astoria.
