The Baylor Project is an American jazz and soul ensemble led by vocalist Jean Baylor and drummer Marcus Baylor. The married musicians draw on jazz, gospel and R&B traditions; their albums The Journey and Generations earned Grammy nominations and established the partnership’s recorded repertoire. The Evening: Live at APPARATUS documented the ensemble’s concert format, centered on Jean Baylor’s vocals and Marcus Baylor’s drumming with a supporting jazz group. Their performance history also includes appearances at the Monterey Jazz Festival and Newport Jazz Festival.
