The Black Heart Procession in Los Angeles

The Black Heart Procession is an American indie-rock band formed in San Diego in 1997 by Pall Jenkins and Tobias Nathaniel. Piano, organ, violin and musical saw shape its slow, dark songs, heard on albums including 2, Three and the murder-mystery narrative Amore del Tropico. “A Light So Dim” and the recurring “The Waiter” songs are central works in the band’s catalogue. Early tours behind 1, 2 and Three took the band through clubs and theatres in North America and Europe. Later performances expanded the repertoire with Amore del Tropico and The Spell, while Jenkins and Nathaniel remained the core of the touring lineup. The group has also returned repeatedly to the Casbah for hometown concerts.
