The Budos Band in Fort Worth

The Budos Band is an American instrumental group formed on Staten Island in 2005. They play horn-led funk and Afrobeat shaped by soul, jazz and psychedelic rock. Their Daptone Records catalog began with The Budos Band and continued through The Budos Band II and The Budos Band III; Burnt Offering moved toward heavier psychedelic rock, while Long in the Tooth retained their compact instrumental writing. In 2014, The Budos Band performed during Daptone Records’ three-night Super Soul Revue at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Recordings from the engagement were later released on a live album documenting the revue, which also featured Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Charles Bradley and Antibalas.
