Artist
The Cat Empire is an Australian band formed in Melbourne in 1999, known for a brass-heavy mix of jazz, ska, funk, reggae and Latin rhythms. Its best-known recordings include “Hello,” “Days Like These,” “The Chariot” and “Two Shoes,” the title track of its second album. The band performed at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and later took its horn-and-percussion-led set to theatres and festivals including Glastonbury. In 2021, its long-running lineup ended its time together with a farewell concert at Sidney Myer Music Bowl; Felix Riebl and Ollie McGill subsequently assembled a new lineup and returned to touring behind Where the Angels Fall. The Cat Empire has repeatedly performed in London and Sydney. On Australian tours, the band also plays Adelaide.
