Artist
The Cure are an English rock band formed in Crawley in 1978. Their music encompasses post-punk, gothic rock and melodic pop, led by Robert Smith’s voice and songwriting. They are known for songs including “A Forest,” “Just Like Heaven,” “Lovesong” and “Friday I’m in Love,” as well as albums such as The Head on the Door, Disintegration and Wish. The Prayer Tour took The Cure around the world in 1989 in support of Disintegration. In 2002, the Trilogy concerts at Berlin’s Tempodrom presented Pornography, Disintegration and Bloodflowers in full on consecutive nights. The band marked its 40th anniversary in 2018 with a concert in London’s Hyde Park. Glastonbury has repeatedly booked the band as a headliner. Coachella and Reading Festival have also given The Cure top billing.
