The Del McCoury Band & The Travelin' McCourys in Nashville

The Del McCoury Band is an American bluegrass group led by singer and guitarist Del McCoury, whose high tenor and rhythm guitar anchor its traditional acoustic sound. The band is known for albums including The Cold Hard Facts and The Company We Keep, its recording of Richard Thompson’s “1952 Vincent Black Lightning,” and The Mountain, made with Steve Earle. Del McCoury became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2003, and the band has made repeated appearances on its Nashville stage. In 2008 he founded DelFest in Cumberland, Maryland, where The Del McCoury Band serves as host and performs at the annual festival. After recording American Legacies, it toured in 2011 with Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

The Travelin' McCourys are an American bluegrass band formed in 2009 around brothers Ronnie and Rob McCoury, sons of Del McCoury. Their lineup features mandolin, banjo, fiddle, guitar and bass, and their repertoire includes traditional bluegrass, newgrass and interpretations of rock songs. Their self-titled 2018 album received the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album. They began performing under their own name in 2009 and became recurring performers at DelFest, the Maryland festival founded by Del McCoury. Concert dates with Keller Williams led to the collaborative album Pick. They later developed the Grateful Ball with the Jeff Austin Band, where each group performed its own set before joining together for songs by Grateful Dead.
