The Dreadnoughts in Aachen

The Dreadnoughts are a Canadian folk-punk band formed in Vancouver in 2006. Their music draws on punk rock, polka, Celtic folk and sea shanties, often led by violin and accordion. They are known for songs including “Sleep Is for the Weak” and “Polka Never Dies,” and for albums such as Victory Square, Polka’s Not Dead and Foreign Skies. The band began playing at the Ivanhoe Hotel, then spent the following years touring clubs and festivals across Europe. The Dreadnoughts stopped full-time touring in 2011, later regrouped for further shows and returned to European stages.
