Kula Shaker in Sunderland

Kula Shaker are a British rock band formed in London in 1995, led by singer and guitarist Crispian Mills. Their psychedelic rock draws on Indian classical music and became widely known through the debut album K and songs including “Tattva,” “Hey Dude” and “Govinda”; their recording of “Hush” also became a major part of their catalogue. In 1996, Kula Shaker supported Oasis at one of the Knebworth concerts, followed by an appearance at Glastonbury Festival in 1997. After re-forming, they performed at Fuji Rock Festival in 2006, and in 2016 they marked the 20th anniversary of K by playing the album in full on a tour that included the Roundhouse in London.
