The Halluci Nation in Montreal

The Halluci Nation is a Canadian First Nations electronic group formed in Ottawa in 2007 under the name A Tribe Called Red. The group plays dance music built around powwow singing and drums, hip-hop and electronic production, a style often called powwow-step. Its best-known work includes “Electric Pow Wow Drum,” “Stadium Pow Wow,” the albums Nation II Nation and We Are the Halluci Nation, and spoken-word contributions from John Trudell. Performing as A Tribe Called Red, the group played Glastonbury Festival in 2014, then brought its electronic set to Coachella in 2017. The live format pairs electronic sets by Bear Witness and 2oolman with video work created by Bear Witness.
