The Innocence Mission in Chicago

The Innocence Mission is an American band formed in Pennsylvania by Karen Peris, Don Peris and Mike Bitts, who met while at school. Their quiet folk-pop and dream pop centers on Karen Peris’s voice, guitar and piano; their best-known recordings include “Bright as Yellow,” “The Lakes of Canada,” and the albums Glow and Birds of My Neighborhood. The Innocence Mission toured as an opening act for 10,000 Maniacs after its early releases. Concerts later became infrequent as Karen and Don Peris focused on making records close to home in Lancaster.
