The Kentucky Headhunters are an American country-rock and southern-rock band from Edmonton, Kentucky. Their roots lie in the earlier group Itchy Brother, while the Kentucky Headhunters name dates to 1986. The 1989 album Pickin’ on Nashville introduced their best-known recordings, including “Dumas Walker,” “Walk Softly on This Heart of Mine” and “Oh Lonesome Me.” The band’s 2017 performance at Ramblin’ Man Fair in Maidstone was later issued as Live at the Ramblin’ Man Fair, documenting its festival set. In 2021, the group made its debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage in Nashville.
