Living Colour is an American rock band formed in New York City in 1984 by guitarist Vernon Reid. Their music draws on hard rock, funk and metal, and the lineup is closely associated with singer Corey Glover, drummer Will Calhoun and bassist Doug Wimbish. The band became known through the album Vivid and songs including “Cult of Personality,” “Glamour Boys” and “Open Letter (To a Landlord),” followed by the album Time’s Up. In 1989, Living Colour opened for the Rolling Stones on the Steel Wheels Tour, bringing the band to stadium audiences. They joined the inaugural Lollapalooza tour in 1991, then returned to performing after an onstage reunion in 2000 at CBGB.
