The Rural Alberta Advantage

The Rural Alberta Advantage are a Canadian indie-rock band formed in Toronto in 2005. Their urgent, lo-fi sound became known through the albums Hometowns and Departing, including the songs “Don't Haunt This Place,” “Frank, AB” and “Drain the Blood.” Both albums were shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize. In 2011, touring behind Departing took the band through clubs and theatres and included performances at Coachella and Sasquatch! Music Festival. For much of the band’s history, its concert arrangements have centered on Nils Edenloff’s guitar and lead vocal, Amy Cole’s keyboards and percussion, and the drumming of Paul Banwatt.
