The Spooky Men's Chorale in London

The Spooky Men's Chorale is an Australian male-voice ensemble formed in the Blue Mountains in 2001. Its repertoire combines Georgian polyphony, original songs and deadpan reinterpretations of pop standards; “Don't Stand Between a Man and His Tool” is among its characteristic comic pieces. The group has toured Britain repeatedly, including performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Union Chapel in London. Its Australian festival appearances have included WOMADelaide and the Woodford Folk Festival. The ensemble performs unaccompanied, dressed in black and often wearing hats. Founder Stephen Taberner conducts the songs and delivers the spoken comic links.
