Artist
The Waterboys are a British rock band formed in Edinburgh in 1983 by singer-songwriter Mike Scott. Their music ranges across expansive alternative rock and Celtic folk, heard on albums including This Is the Sea and Fisherman’s Blues. Their best-known songs include “The Whole of the Moon,” “Fisherman’s Blues” and “How Long Will I Love You.” The Waterboys performed at Glastonbury Festival in 1986 during the This Is the Sea period. In 2010, Scott brought An Appointment with Mr Yeats to Dublin’s Abbey Theatre, where the band presented his settings of poems by W. B. Yeats as a staged song cycle; the work was performed at London’s Barbican the following year.
