Tom Bailey is an English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, born in Halifax in 1954. He co-founded Thompson Twins in Sheffield in 1977 and became the new wave and synth-pop group’s lead singer, known for songs including “Hold Me Now,” “Doctor! Doctor!” and “Love on Your Side,” as well as the album Into the Gap. His solo pop album Science Fiction followed in 2018. In 2014, Tom Bailey returned to the stage after a long absence at Rewind Festival in Henley-on-Thames, performing Thompson Twins material with a full band. Later that year, he toured North America on Retro Futura alongside Howard Jones and Midge Ure.
Blancmange are a British synth-pop group formed in Harrow in 1979 by Neil Arthur and Stephen Luscombe. Their electronic pop became widely known through “Living on the Ceiling,” “Blind Vision” and “Don’t Tell Me,” as well as the albums Happy Families and Mange Tout. Blancmange returned to British stages after re-forming in 2011 and releasing Blanc Burn. A Neil Arthur-led lineup later toured Happy Families Too, revisiting the group’s debut album in concert. The group has performed at Rewind Festival and at editions of the Let’s Rock series.
