Timaya in London

Timaya is a Nigerian singer and songwriter from Bayelsa State whose music draws on dancehall, afrobeats and Nigerian pop. He established his sound with the song “Dem Mama” and the debut album True Story, then followed with releases including Gift and Grace and De Rebirth. “Plantain Boy,” “Bum Bum” and “Sanko” are among his best-known songs. In 2017, Timaya performed at One Africa Music Fest at the SSE Arena Wembley in London, appearing at the same event as 2Baba, Davido and Tiwa Savage. His festival appearances have also included Afro Nation Portugal in Portimão.
