Tocotronic in Dresden

Tocotronic are a German indie-rock band formed in Hamburg in 1993 by Dirk von Lowtzow, Jan Müller and Arne Zank. Closely associated with the Hamburger Schule scene, they became known for literate German-language songs including “Freiburg” and “Ich möchte Teil einer Jugendbewegung sein,” as well as albums such as Digital ist besser, K.O.O.K. and Pure Vernunft darf niemals siegen. The tour supporting Kapitulation was documented on the concert release Kapitulation Live. Subsequent album tours kept Tocotronic in theatres, concert halls and festivals across the German-speaking countries, and the band has performed at both Hurricane Festival and Southside Festival.
