Tom Scott in Studio City

Tom Scott is an American saxophonist, composer and bandleader born in Los Angeles in 1948. He founded the jazz-funk group L.A. Express and is known for albums including Tom Cat and Blow It Out, as well as his woodwind arrangements and performances on Joni Mitchell’s Court and Spark. In 1974, Tom Scott and L.A. Express backed Joni Mitchell on the Court and Spark tour, documented on the live album Miles of Aisles. Later that year, he led the band and played saxophone on George Harrison’s Dark Horse Tour.
