Bernhoft in Langesund

Bernhoft is the stage name of Norwegian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jarle Bernhoft, born in 1976. A former frontman of the rock band Span, he built his solo work around soul, funk and pop, and is known for songs including “C’mon Talk” and “Choices” and the albums Solidarity Breaks and Islander. The concert album Live at Rockefeller Music Hall documented his loop-based solo setup in Oslo, where he layers vocals, guitar and percussion in real time. He performs both solo and with a backing band; the compact solo format is also captured in his NPR Tiny Desk Concert.
