Tracie Spencer in Oakland

Tracie Spencer is an American R&B and pop singer born in Waterloo, Iowa, in 1976. She began recording as a child and became known for the album Make the Difference, which produced “This House,” “Tender Kisses” and “Love Me.” In 1987, at age 11, Spencer won the junior vocalist category on Star Search, leading to a recording contract with Capitol Records. She later performed material including “This House” on Soul Train, bringing the songs from Make the Difference to a national television audience.
