Tracy Bonham in Minneapolis

Tracy Bonham is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who emerged from Boston’s alternative-rock scene in the 1990s. Her 1996 debut album, The Burdens of Being Upright, introduced her best-known song, “Mother Mother,” alongside “The One”; later records include Down Here and Blink the Brightest. Lilith Fair featured Bonham during its original 1990s run, where her voice, guitar, piano and violin supported material from her early albums. In 2003 she sang and played violin in Blue Man Group’s first concert tour, The Complex Rock Tour.
