Veronica Swift in Budapest

Veronica Swift is an American jazz vocalist, born in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1994. Her second-place finish in the 2015 Thelonious Monk jazz vocal competition brought wider attention, followed by the albums Confessions, This Bitter Earth and Veronica Swift. Her repertoire encompasses swing and bebop as well as rock, funk and theatrical song. After moving to New York, Swift held a Saturday-night residency at Birdland. She later toured and performed as a guest vocalist with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, while her own engagements have included the Blue Note and the Monterey Jazz Festival.
