Vio-Lence is an American thrash metal band formed in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1985. The band is best known for its debut album, Eternal Nightmare, followed by Oppressing the Masses and Nothing to Gain; “Phobophobia” and “World in a World” are among its signature tracks. Vio-Lence performed at Dynamo Open Air in Eindhoven in 1990. During its first reunion, the band appeared at the 2001 Thrash of the Titans benefit at Maritime Hall in San Francisco, then returned after another long hiatus for a 2019 concert at the Oakland Metro Operahouse.
