Vlado Kreslin in Ljubljana

Vlado Kreslin is a Slovenian singer-songwriter, born in Beltinci in 1953, whose music connects folk traditions from Prekmurje with rock songwriting. He is known for songs including “Tista črna kitara,” “Namesto koga roža cveti” and “Od višine se zvrti.” Martin Krpan opened for Bob Dylan in Ljubljana in 1991, when Kreslin was the group’s singer. He later made performances with the folk musicians of Beltinška banda and his rock group Mali bogovi central to his concert work, including a long-running December concert tradition at Cankarjev dom.
