Artist
Walter Trout is an American blues-rock guitarist, singer and songwriter, born in Ocean City, New Jersey, in 1951. Before beginning a solo career in 1989, he played in Canned Heat and John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. His solo catalogue includes the albums Blues for the Modern Daze and Battle Scars, plus songs such as “Life in the Jungle” and “I’m Almost Gone.” From 1981 to 1985, he toured and recorded with Canned Heat, then spent four years in John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. After leaving in 1989, he formed the Walter Trout Band and toured under his own name. In 2015, following a liver transplant and a long recovery, he returned to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall as John Mayall’s guest. Walter Trout performs with a full electric band, singing and playing lead guitar. Live Trout was recorded at the Tampa Bay Blues Festival, while another concert release was recorded at Paradiso in Amsterdam.
