Waylon in Amsterdam

Waylon is a Dutch singer born Willem Bijkerk in Apeldoorn in 1980. His music draws on country, soul, rock and pop, and he became widely known after winning the first season of Holland’s Got Talent. His catalogue includes the debut album Wicked Ways, the single “Wicked Way” and “Outlaw in ’Em”; he also recorded “Calm After the Storm” with Ilse DeLange as the Common Linnets. In 2014, he and Ilse DeLange represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, where “Calm After the Storm” finished second. He returned to Eurovision as a solo performer in 2018, presenting “Outlaw in ’Em” at the Altice Arena in Lisbon.
