Artist
Wonk Unit are an English punk-rock band formed in London in 2005 by singer and songwriter Alex Johnson after the end of The Flying Medallions. Their records include Trolleys Thank You, Nervous Racehorse and Terror, combining direct punk songs with Johnson’s personal, comic and sometimes surreal writing. The band founded its own Wonkfest in 2011, staging the DIY punk festival at venues including The Grosvenor and The Dome. Alongside those home-city events, Wonk Unit have toured clubs across the UK and mainland Europe and performed at Rebellion Festival in Blackpool and Manchester Punk Festival.
