Alison Krauss & Union Station & Jerry Douglas in Highland Park

Alison Krauss & Union Station is an American bluegrass and country group led by singer and fiddler Alison Krauss. Recording together since the late 1980s, they are known for albums including Two Highways, So Long So Wrong, New Favorite and Lonely Runs Both Ways, as well as songs such as “The Lucky One” and “Restless.” Group member Dan Tyminski also sang lead on “I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow” for the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. In 2002, the group recorded two concerts at the Louisville Palace in Kentucky for the album and concert film Live. They later returned to theatres and festivals on the 2011 Paper Airplane Tour.

Jerry Douglas is an American resonator-guitar player and producer, born in 1956, whose work spans bluegrass, country and acoustic roots music. His solo albums include Fluxology and Slide Rule, and he is known for his long membership in Alison Krauss & Union Station and for founding The Earls of Leicester. In 2002, he performed with Alison Krauss & Union Station at the Louisville Palace concerts documented on Live. He later toured behind Lonely Runs Both Ways and Paper Airplane, then took The Earls of Leicester onto theatre and festival stages after the group’s self-titled debut. The Transatlantic Sessions concerts pair him as co-musical director with Scottish fiddler Aly Bain, leading a rotating cast of Celtic and American roots musicians. His own performances center on the dobro, whether he appears with the Jerry Douglas Band or in an acoustic ensemble. His performances take him well beyond his native Warren, Ohio, including the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado and Celtic Connections in Glasgow.
