About Amanda Palmer

Amanda Palmer is an American singer-songwriter, pianist and performance artist, born in New York City in 1976. She first became known as one half of the punk-cabaret duo The Dresden Dolls, whose songs include “Coin-Operated Boy” and “Girl Anachronism.” Her solo catalogue includes the albums Who Killed Amanda Palmer, Theatre Is Evil and There Will Be No Intermission.

The Dresden Dolls opened for Nine Inch Nails on tour in 2005, bringing Palmer’s theatrical piano-led work to larger rock audiences. She later toured Theatre Is Evil with the Grand Theft Orchestra, then presented the 2019 There Will Be No Intermission tour as an extended solo theatre show built around piano, ukulele, songs and autobiographical storytelling.
