Bill Maher is an American stand-up comedian, writer and television host, born in New York City in 1956. His topical comedy focuses on politics, religion and public life; he is best known for hosting Politically Incorrect and Real Time with Bill Maher, and for the documentary Religulous.

In 2003, Maher brought the solo show Victory Begins at Home to Broadway’s Virginia Theatre. Later stand-up specials documented his theatre performances around the United States: Live from D.C. was recorded at the Warner Theatre in Washington, and Live from Oklahoma at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. He subsequently filmed #Adulting at the Fillmore Miami Beach.
