Black Lips are an American garage-rock band formed in Atlanta in 1999. Their raw, lo-fi sound draws on garage punk and psychedelic rock; key releases include the albums Good Bad Not Evil and Arabia Mountain, and songs such as “Bad Kids,” “O Katrina!” and “Family Tree.” In 2009, their tour of India ended early after a concert in Chennai, where the band’s onstage conduct led to a dispute with the promoter. They later undertook a 2012 tour of the Middle East, including shows in Cairo and Erbil, documented in the film Kids Like You & Me. They have also performed at Coachella in Indio and Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
