Brian Blade & The Fellowship Band is an American contemporary-jazz ensemble formed in 1997 by drummer Brian Blade and pianist Jon Cowherd. Its music centers on melody, open improvisation and gospel-rooted harmony, documented on albums including Brian Blade Fellowship, Perceptual, Season of Changes and Landmarks. In 2014, the group performed at the Newport Jazz Festival following the release of Landmarks. Later that year, NPR Music recorded the ensemble for a Tiny Desk Concert featuring material from Landmarks.
